Mental health resources for students, faculty, staff, and contractors

October is Mental Health Awareness Month, and faculty and staff are reminded to watch carefully for signs of stress, both in our student population and in ourselves, particularly as stress levels may increase with the onset of midterms.

University Life has announced the availability of TimelyCare, a virtual health and well-being platform created for college students, that offers emotional support, counseling, health coaching, and content on well-being and health topics. TimelyCare is available at no cost to Mason students, and may be accessed 24/7 through the University Life website or via the TimelyCare app.

Mason’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) also offers an online screening tool as a resource for students, and offers screening self-evaluations for depression, anxiety, disordered eating, and alcohol and substance misuse. All responses are anonymous.

Mason’s Center for Psychological Services offers a free emotional support telephone line that is available to staff, faculty, and contractors from 8:30 am – 8:30 pm, seven days a week.
