Performance evaluation updates

Mason's performance evaluation process for 2022 has changed. Here is a summary of the changes.

Important Notes

·     Only classified staff and admin/professional faculty participate in the performance evaluation process

·     Instructional faculty, adjunct faculty, GRAs, and GTAs, do not participate in the performance evaluation process

·     Many employees erroneously received emails from HR & Payroll, and automated notifications from MasonLEAPS, instructing them to participate in the performance evaluation process. These messages and notifications should be disregarded. HR & Payroll is aware of this issue and is working to resolve it.

For admin/professional faculty

·     Performance evaluations will not be required this year for A/P faculty

·     A/P faculty should not submit a self-eval at this time

·     A/P faculty will participate in performance evaluation process in spring 2023

For classified staff

  • Performance evaluations for classified staff are due by November 18, 2022
  • Classified staff should submit self-evals by October 12, 2022
  • The performance evaluation system is now open in MasonLEAPS for all classified staff hired before July 25, 2022
  • Classified staff hired on or after July 25, 2022 must have their probationary paperwork or online performance review submitted on paper forms
