Call for nominations: CHSS Staff and Administrative Faculty Advisory Council

The college is seeking nominations for the newly formed CHSS Staff and Administrative Faculty Advisory Council. In the fall of 2020, the dean’s office distributed a survey to the college’s staff to gather data on questions related to professional development. Upon review of the survey data, Dean Ann Ardis called for the creation of the CHSS Staff Professional Development Working Group, which kicked off its work in the spring of 2021.

The working group held a listening session in April 2021 and collected additional feedback on another survey in May 2021. After a comprehensive review of the feedback collected, the working group presented a series of recommendations to Dean Ardis and the college’s Senior Staff team. One of those recommendations was the establishment of a permanent CHSS Staff and Administrative Faculty Advisory Council.

The goals of this six-member council for its first year are to

    • To review the staff/administrative faculty responses on the Faculty and Staff Experience Survey and provide a set of recommendations for addressing issues related to burnout, overall satisfaction, and recognition, for consideration by Dean Ardis and the college’s Senior Staff team, and
    • To develop a set of bylaws for the council.

CHSS staff and administrative faculty are encouraged to read the draft council charter and consider nominating themselves for this important new advisory council. Nominations are due by COB September 23.
