Required employee safety and disaster awareness training

All Commonwealth of Virginia state employees are required to complete during their orientation and annually thereafter the Virginia State Employee Safety & Disaster Awareness Training. This training is available in the Commonwealth of Virginia Learning Center (COVLC) for completion.

As a result of legislation from the 2021 Special Session, this training now includes information about public health safety. In 2022, please be aware that state government employees are expected to complete this required training no later than April 1, 2022. Agencies should ensure that they communicate this requirement to agency staff and be sure that they are tracking completion of this training.
