Mason's Institute for Philosophy and Public Policy to host the Public Philosophy Network’s 6th conference

The Institute for Philosophy and Public Policy at George Mason University will host the Public Philosophy Network’s 6th Conference, “Engagement, Policy, and Practice” to be held online October 21-23, 2021.

The conference will feature three exciting plenary sessions, which explore the themes of climate and the environment, science and technology for the public good, and bioethics and public philosophy. Each plenary is free and open to the public.

Plenary 1: Climate Change and Our Common Future

Plenary Panel Description

This plenary panel, Climate Change and Our Common Future, will explore the normative dimensions of international climate and energy policy. The panel will discuss how the U.S. can build a new set of partnerships that ensure a global pathway to clean energy development and deployment that creates good-paying jobs at home and more resilient communities; how climate action is job creation; and how the U.S can lead in winning the technologies of the future and forge targeted partnerships with countries that share our principles on respect for workers, market values, environmental protection, and scientific integrity.
