Mason requires 2021 IT training, offers an opt-out opportunity

Faculty and staff are reminded that they must complete 2021 IT Security Awareness Training by Monday, November 15.

The training is available in employees' Mason Learning, Evaluation, and Performance System (MasonLEAPS) accounts. Please access it by logging in at masonleaps.gmu.edu using your NetID and Patriot Pass password. Select “2021 IT Security Awareness Training” in the “Your Action Items” box to the right.

When the training comes up, you can select it or take a Knowledge Pre-Check quiz. If you opt to take the quiz, you will only have to complete training modules related to questions you answer incorrectly and one other module called “You Are the Shield.”

If you are privileged user or a system administrator, you will be assigned additional role-based training. Your account will have options from LinkedIn Learning related to your job. You are required to select one of the options. The length of the training depends on your selection.

Information Technology Services stresses the role of periodic training in protecting the university's IT systems and data from cyberthreats and cybercriminals, and thanks you for your contribution to keeping Mason's IT systems and data safe.
