Welcome to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences

As one of the largest colleges at Mason, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) offers an expansive range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary degree programs: 23 undergraduate majors, 70 minors, 14 graduate certificates, 18 master’s degrees, 9 doctoral degrees, and 22 accelerated master’s degree pathways.  
 
CHSS delivers critical core courses for the entire university community, conferring upwards of 2,200 degrees per year, and is instrumental in Mason’s attainment of the R-1 Doctoral University (Highest Research Activity) classification.
