Cheuse Center hosts congenial cross-cultural event

The Alan Cheuse International Writers Center held a lively event in early November with the acclaimed Danish writer Simon Fruelund and his students. Fruelund and seven of his students participated in a cross-cultural conversation with eight George Mason undergraduates from the English and anthropology departments. They did a kind of "speed cultural exchange" where they asked a set of questions to one another, engaged in conversation, and then rotated through the line for more.

Of course, the group paused in the middle for that great American tradition of pizza and soda for lunch. Matt Davis, director of the Cheuse Center, reported that the event was great fun, with lots of laughs shared.
