How did you choose your degree program?

I chose my degree program because I wanted a combination of both a sustainability and business program as I thought this would be very helpful in the career world. Initially I was a geography major concentrating in conservation but I was having a hard time thinking of a career path that was specific in what I wanted to be but also still broad that I could apply to multiple different positions. After transferring to George Mason University and seeing the sustainability program I knew that was the one for me!

What accomplishment(s) during your time at Mason are you most proud of?

I transferred to George Mason University before my sophomore year as I wanted to be closer to Washington DC for internship opportunities. I proudly accomplished that by gaining an internship through Blumont, Inc. as the business development intern and am still currently working for the company!

Are there faculty or staff members who made a difference during your Mason career? Please give an example of this impact if possible.

My academic advisor, Sharon Spradling, was extremely helpful in planning and enacting anything I needed to succeed. I was able to speak with her about any issues I had with scheduling and we were able to work everything out together!

What are your current career plans following graduation? What are your long-term career goals?

After graduation I am excited to start my career at ICF as an Energy Program Support Analyst! In the long term I would love to work as a sustainability consultant to help businesses become more environmentally friendly through my expertise.
