The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) offers a wide variety of undergraduate programs that equip students with key skills needed to bring communication, project management, critical analysis, leadership, innovation, and global understanding to address existing and emerging challenges. We offer students many pathways to earning a degree, including accelerated and dual-degree programs.

  • Our accelerated master’s degree programs are designed for highly qualified and motivated undergraduates. Students admitted to an accelerated master’s degree program have the opportunity to complete both degrees in a reduced amount of time, and at a reduced cost.
  • The college awards need-based and merit-based scholarships, and most scholarships are available to students across all programs in the college.
  • All undergraduates seeking a baccalaureate degree must complete Mason Core requirements, a set of required courses that provides a breadth of liberal education courses, complementing the depth of knowledge and skills students build in their majors and minors.
  • Our faculty take great pride in being active scholar-teachers, and research is a vital part of both the undergraduate and graduate student experience here.  For undergraduate students, this means that opportunities to participate in research projects are readily available. Our students are encouraged to ask questions, to seek research training, and to contribute in ways that make an impact.
