Avideh Mayville, 2018

Avideh Mayville has a varied background across spaces of research, practice, and service. Her research focuses on the intersection of security, development, and statebuilding within a context of transnational conflict, with a focus on Afghanistan and Pakistan. Avideh previously worked for the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars as a Research Assistant, and as a Senior Program Associate designing cross-cultural peacebuilding programs in Cyprus, Turkey, and Armenia at HasNa, Inc. in Washington, DC. She currently works as a Program Manager and Quality Assurance Team Lead at American Corporate Partners, and is working on a book proposal inspired by her dissertation, "The Transformation of “Capacity” in International Development: USAID and the Rise of Transnational Militancy in Afghanistan and Pakistan (1977-2017)". Avideh holds a Master's degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution and a PhD in Sociology.
