We are proud of our students and everything they have accomplished in your time at Mason. Celebrating your achievements is important to all of us in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) community.
We invite you to join us for a celebration of your efforts and achievements at 2 p.m. Friday, May 14th, 2021 for Mason’s virtual Spring Graduation, broadcast on GMU-TV. This event will include a conferral of degrees by President Washington and congratulatory messages from the deans of Mason’s colleges and schools. It will also feature a brief message from a member of the Class of 2020, a student performance, and special guests wishing you well. We hope you will take the time to celebrate your accomplishments and invite friends and family to join you.
At the conclusion of the graduation ceremony, the university will direct you to the content for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences celebration. This will include your own slide, congratulatory videos, and remarks from Dean Ann Ardis.
In addition, on the morning of graduation, the college will post links to the university’s Spring Graduation and to CHSS student slides. Visit chss.gmu.edu/graduation for updated information.
Mason is working with a company called Marching Order, a virtual platform and hub, to honor our Spring 2021 graduates. The site will give each graduate an opportunity to submit a photo and a brief message to fellow Patriots, family, and friends.
Marching Order Timeline:
April 19*: Deadline to submit a pronunciation guide on your name.
April 26*: Deadline to upload a picture and personal message to have a slide appear on your unit’s website.
*These deadlines are not flexible.
If you miss the April 26 deadline, you can still receive a blank slide to personalize and share on your social media or with family. However, it will not appear on any Mason website. Visit the University Graduation page for more information.
