Comings & Goings
We are happy to say that Chris Chen will be back at work on March 1 after her maternity leave. Welcome back Chris!
Unfortunately, Roxanne will be leaving Mason at the end of the month so we are recruiting once again. Roxanne is returning to part time work.
Lee Clark has done a great job covering during Chris' absence, and Lee will stay on half time while we recruit for an Assistant Director. Chris will be at phone extension 3-8862, and Lee will be at extension 3-8612.

FY11 Teaching Loads
Please remember to complete the FY11 Teaching Load information in the Budget Tracking System by March 12. This information is necessary to set up the part time budget for next year as well as to help track grant buyouts, faculty leaves, and teaching for other departments/units.
If you have changes to faculty with administrative roles and associated course reductions/stipends in FY11, please send those details to Leslie or Chris to update in BTS.
Budget Tracking System News
The login page for BTS has been updated with a more "professional" look. Do not be alarmed if it looks a bit different :-).
New updates to BTS include:
- New look for the Sign In page
- First-Time Hires download (see below)
COMING SOON . . .
- Funding Change Forms will be generated using BTS and drop down menus.
- New Tuition Waivers Function with the ability to view Planned Waivers and the Actual Waiver amounts applied to the student accounts
First-Time Hires Download
We are implementing a new option in BTS. When you create a contract you will also have the option to download the pages for First-Time Hires. Separating these pages from the contract will allow you to save paper, as you will only need these pages for Adjuncts who have not worked with GMU before.
Please go in and try this out when you have a chance! We welcome your feedback.
Federal Work Study
Please contact Chris Chen if you can use additional Federal Work Study budget this year. CHSS is juggling all of the budgets and we do need to spend all of the available funds.
CHSS Winter Info Session
Unfortunately, our winter info session was snowed out and we were unable to reschedule. But, we would still like to meet with all of you over a slice of pizza or two. Please join us for an informal pizza lunch on Thursday, March 11 at 12 noon in the Johnson Center, 3rd floor, room E. We will are looking forward to seeing you there.
Moving and Relocation
The moving and relocation packets have been revised to give you more of a step-by-step guide to work with incoming faculty members and purchasing. The new packets will be available at our pizza lunch or can be sent to you at your request.
For those of you who like to use caterers other than Sodexho, please take a look at the Campus Catering web site. You will find a list of approved caterers, forms, procedures, etc. If your preferred caterer is not on the list, please allow a minimum of two weeks for approval of a new caterer.
Term Renewal Contracts
Term faculty reappointment contracts are due to the Finance and HR office (attention Joan) by March 26. Please use the revised offer letter templates that are posted on the Provost Office website.
