Leslie graduated from the University of Virginia in 1980 and spent the first several years of her career as an auditor with KPMG.  She is a CPA and has served in senior finance and administrative roles for the past 28 years. 

HIGHLIGHTS:

10 years as Executive Director of Finance & Human Resources at Mason directing finance and human resource functions, originally for the College of Arts and Sciences and now CHSS.  Leslie and her staff provide financial management and HR support to the dean and CHSS departments and programs.  They coordinate the budget process, monitor spending against the budget, provide reporting, oversee hiring and other employee matters, support grant and contract management, and serve as liaison between the central finance, sponsored programs, human resources, and budget offices and CHSS department personnel.

10 years at PRC, Inc in McLean serving as Vice President of Finance for an $85 million real estate systems provider, Controller of the $165 million commercial systems group, and manager of various departments.  This included operational responsibility and technical accounting for acquisitions, divestitures and consolidations as well as managing high volume transaction processing (payroll, accounts payable, billing and accounts receivable, collections, fixed assets, inventory, state and local taxes) budget development and monitoring, financial reporting, and cash management.  

10 years as Chief Financial Officer for various charitable non profit organizations.  Leslie spent 3 years working in remote Montana for an association of Native American schools where she was responsible for an overall $25 million operating budget and a $60 million investment portfolio.  Leslie selected and installed modern accounting software, introduced comprehensive budget and financial reporting techniques and spearheaded a new 401(k) plan, a flex plan and a revised self insured medical plan for the schools.  Leslie also served on the Board of Directors for the local bank and a non profit organization devoted to business development on the Northern Cheyenne reservation.
