Four College Students Receive Cosmos Club Foundation's Cosmos Scholars Grants

George Mason University is the recipient of seven grants from the 2016 Cosmos Club Foundation’s Cosmos Scholars Grants program: three in the College of Science and four in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

The Cosmos Club Foundation was created to “advance science, literature, and the arts and humanities through awards and grants for charitable and educational purposes.” It does so primarily by awarding research grants to graduate students enrolled in universities in the Washington, DC area. The selection process is rigorous and only about 10% of the proposals are funded, according to the foundation’s website.

This year, the foundation trustees recognized the following College of Humanities and Social Sciences students:

  • Kristen Craven, PhD student in psychology / cognitive and behavioral neuroscience
  • Kelsey Kim, MA student in history of decorative arts - Gerson Nordlinger Award in the Arts
  • Grant Lewis, PhD student in economics
  • Caroline Neely, PhD student in psychology / cognitive and behavioral neuroscience - J.K. McLaughlin Award in Biomedical Science

We heartily congratulate these scholars and all of the recipients of the Cosmos Scholars Grants!
